Ensembl What's New v1.1.2 (3rd September 2001)

Ensembl: Latest Developments
New Features in v1.1.2
   Export Feature Lists
ExportView now lets you export a genomic region as a list of features, in GFF, tab separated or comma separated formats. [More...]

   Blast Hits on ContigView
Individual blast hits can be viewed in context on the ContigView displays - simply click on a "Show in Contigview" link from a blast hit in BlastView.

   Karyotype positions
FamilyView and DomainView display a karyotype diagram showing the chromosomal location of Family/Domain members.

   Identifier Archive
If you use an Ensembl identifier that has been retired or remapped, you should be redirected to the current identifier. Planned work on this feature will provide a rich history of an identifier.

   Superfamilies in ProtView
Protein displays now contain SCOP Superfamily information.

   Transcript diagram in GeneView
GeneView now contains a diagram of all transcripts for a gene.

Changes / Improvements in v1.1.2
   Family Database
This release contains a new protein family database.

   Archive Database
This release contains a database of old identifiers and their mapping to new identifiers.

   DAS displays
The DAS rows on ContigView are now present at all times (when switched on), and display either DAS features, a message that there are no features in this region, or a DAS server error message.

   GC plot
The GC plot feature on ContigView has been updated and now shows a trace from 25% to 75% GC

   EMBL transcripts
These features on ContigView displays now have links to their EMBL files.

   Improved drawing code
MapView and BlastView now use updated drawing code. The old drawing code (from the module ensembl-view) has now been completely retired.

   Highlighting
ContigView has improved code for highlighting specific features.

   Extra Gene Descriptions
Ensembl now has a description for 82% of genes (18,053 out of 21,921 genes). This is up from 60%.
